This position will perform professional-level work in support of the research activities in tree crops in Washington. The incumbent will perform a wide range of duties including field and laboratory analyses to accomplish research goals; field experiment set up; developing field and laboratory protocols; collecting, processing, and analyzing data; statistical analysis; preparing graphics and reports; troubleshooting and maintaining computers and laboratory equipment. A high level of capability in computer software (spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation) and the ability to learn new software is required. Additional requirements include the ability to locate and purchase supplies, schedule and execute activities independently, and learn new procedures and protocols. Experimental and analytical skills, precision, reliability, understanding and knowledge of research theory, excellent organizational skills are also required.
The incumbent will lead the activities of hourly workers, and work with other technical staff and scientists to achieve project goals.
